Three Mustangs Selected in the MLS Draft

DALLAS (SMU) -- Three former Mustang soccer players were taken in Sunday's Major League Soccer 2002 SuperDraft held in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. SMU's Luchi Gonzalez was the sixth overall pick by the San Jose Earthquakes while midfielder Carl Bussey was drafted by the Dallas Burn as the ninth pick overall. Forward Mohamed Fahim went in the third round as the 31st pick overall and was selected by D.C. United.

A total of six former SMU players now don MLS uniforms. The trio above joins forward Paul Broome (Dallas Burn), Daniel Hernandez (NY/NJ Metrostars) and Tom Presthus (Columbus Crew) in the professional ranks.
