DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU women's swimming and diving team hosts the 24th annual SMU Classic at the Westside Aquatic Center in Lewisville, Texas, Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT each evening. Live stats will be available at SMUMustangs.com and on the Meet Mobile App. Diving results can be found on divemeets.com.
The SMU Classic continues to be one of the premier women's swimming and diving events in the country each season, welcoming teams who finished in the NCAA top 10 the previous season, as well as those ranked in this year's preseason Top 25. The Classic is hosted annually by the Mustangs and has featured top competition dating back to 1994. The Ponies have won the event seven times, with swimmers taking home seven high-point awards and divers earning five. The 2017 edition is a repeat of the 2016 field, with all six teams returning for action.

The SMU Classic features 8 swimmers and 1 diver from each competing school. Swimmers may swim 3 events per day, one of which must be a relay. Each team will enter 1 swimmer per heat (Consolation & Championship), while relays will only have a Championship heat. Diving events will consist of 6 optional dives on 1m and 3m boards.
