COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - In the final non-conference game of the season, SMU fell on the road at No. 22 Texas A&M, 79-57, on Thursday night.

Senior Kiara Perry led the way offensively for SMU, dropping in 11 points while also collecting three rebounds and a team-high three assists. Perry has now scored 10 points or more in the last four games and nine times this season.

For the second consecutive game, the Mustangs showed improved ball movement to finish the game with 15 assists on 21 made baskets. However, it wasn't enough to keep up with A&M's quick pace.

While A&M only shot 43 percent from the field, the Aggies were able to get to the line much more frequently to help build their lead. Texas A&M hit 79 percent of shots from the foul line (19-of-24) while SMU only attempted 12 free throws, making eight of them.

The Aggies were also able to accumulate a big advantage on the glass, finishing with 15 more rebounds than the Mustangs.

After a close first quarter, the Aggies opened the second quarter with a 17-3 run to get separation from the Mustangs. From there, SMU was never able to close the gap again.

The Mustangs open conference play at home against Houston on December 30 at 2 p.m. SMU finished non-conference play 5-1 at Moody Coliseum and will look to continue that into conference play on Saturday.
