STANFORD, CALIF. (SMU) – The Mustangs wrapped up their West Coast trip recording six season-best times Friday while competing at the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
At the Stanford Invitational, freshman
Hannah Miller led the way placing ninth in section three of the 5,000-meters with a time of 16 minutes, 12.55 seconds, which is the fifth-fastest time in program history. Senior
Holly Archer did not disappoint as she finished third in her section of the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:26.39.
Four Mustangs competed in San Francisco, led by senior
Shanoah Souza third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:26.81.
Charlotte-Tara Murphy,
Justine Anthony and
Anneke Grogan all were within six seconds of each other in their first 5K of the season. Murphy finished in 17:00.87, while Anthony set a personal record of 17:10.69 and Grogan ran 17:16.41.
SMU continues action at the Bobcat Invitational Saturday with events scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT.
