USTFCCCA All- Academic Teams
USTFCCA All-Academic Individuals (Women's)
NEW ORLEANS (SMU) – For the 11th consecutive year, the SMU track and field program have received U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors after posting a 3.38 team grade-point average for the 2016-17 season.

Hannah Miller earned USTFCCA All-Academic individual honors.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic list, the team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and the student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. The individual must have qualified for any round of the NCAA Championships in the outdoor season, or have been ranked in the top-96 of an individual event or in the top-48 in a relay event during the indoor season.
There were 360 NCAA Division I teams that were honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA. The Mustangs were one of 218 women's teams honored compared to 142 men's programs. Individually, there was a total of 752 women that earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Archer closed out her storied career for the Mustangs as a nine-time (six indoor and three outdoor) track and field all-conference honoree. She claimed her first career conference title last season winning the 1,500-meters in a personal best time of 4 minutes, 22.36 seconds while setting the meet and stadium record. She also garnered four all-conference honors in cross country during her time on the Hilltop and placed sixth overall at the conference championship last year to help SMU win its fourth conference title in six years.
Miller had a stellar freshman campaign that culminated with a 14th place finish in the semifinals of the 5,000-meters at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. She is a five-time (three indoor and two outdoor) track and field all-conference honoree and was also The American runner-up in cross country in the fall. The Invercargill, New Zealand, native claimed three medals at the indoor championship earning silver in the 5K, bronze in the 3K and silver as a member of the distance medley relay. At the outdoor championship, Miller picked up two bronze medals in the 5K and in her first ever 10K. In the fall, Miller led the cross country team to the team title with a runner-up performance. She garnered all-region honors after finishing fourth at the NCAA South Central Regional and qualified for the NCAA Championships as one of the 38 individual qualifiers.
