DALLAS (SMU) - SMU men's soccer Head Coach Kevin Hudson and staff held a couple youth clinics throughout the month of April. On April 19, the program hosted the Mercy Street West Dallas at Gerald J. Ford Stadium as well as a youth clinic at Westcott Field on April 27.
The Mustangs hosted 75 kids for the Mercy Street Clinic, spending the evening with local youth and providing direction through soccer oriented games. Mercy Street West Dallas is a Christian organization that offers programs for at-risk low socio-economic youth to raise a generation of leaders from the community.
On April 27, the SMU men's and women's soccer teams hosted around 200 players for a free youth clinic for boys and girls grades K-8th at Westcott Field. Run by the coaches and players of both programs, the clinic was designed to mix young players in small groups and advance through stations of skill development including passing, dribbling and ball movement.
The SMU men's soccer program will be holding three session dates for the 2016 boy's summer camp. The sessions are June 13-17, July 6-9 and July 10-13 and offer half-day, full day, residential or college prep training.
