DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women's golf wrapped up the regular season with a third-place finish at the hometown Veritex Bank Collegiate. Mackenzie Lee finished in a tie for third and Emily Odwin finished in the top five.
 
The Mustangs came into the day sitting in fourth place at 11-over par. They shot their best round of the tournament in the final round with a score of even par. Two Mustangs shot below par in the round. The team finished six strokes back of first place Houston. The Mustangs finished ahead of two ranked teams in UCF and Oklahoma State.
 
Lee shot two-under in both her first and her last round to finish at four-under for the tournament. She has shot par or better in 13 of her last 14 rounds. She is averaging 69.43 over those rounds. Lee broke the program record for birdies earlier in the tournament.  
 
Odwin finished in the top five thanks to a 71 in the final round. She bogeyed just three times on the day. Her best round came with a 69 in round two. She finished two-under for the tournament.
 
Celine Chen had her best round of the event on the final day. She shot a 73 to move up eight spots into a tie for 30^th. One shot back, June Song finished in a tie for 33^rd. She shot a 74 to move up five spots on the day. Amelie Kumar concluded play in a tie for 44^th.
 
Competing as an individual, Jingan (Annie) Huang tied her best collegiate round with a one over 73 during the final day. She finished in a tie for 50^th.
 
Next up, the Mustangs begin postseason play with the ACC Championship on Tuesday April 15. The tournament runs through Friday April 18 in Greensboro, N.C.
