DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Athletic Department has contracted with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to offer the Iron Skillet Party Train.

The train will travel from Ft. Worth to Dallas on Sept. 10 when SMU hosts rival TCU at Ford Stadium. Through the partnership with DART, the T, and TRE, fans in Ft. Worth can hop on the Party Train with their food and beverage without having to fight traffic on I-30. The special DART Party Train Package is $40 per person and includes a sideline reserved game ticket, round-trip transportation from Fort Worth's T&P or Intermodal Transportation Center Stations and a coupon for food at Trinity Hall Irish Pub in Mockingbird Station. Transit-only tickets are available for $10.

The Party Train will depart from T&P Station at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 10. A number of free parking spaces are available at that location. Additional parking is available at the Intermodal Transportation Center for a nominal fee. Food and beverages may be brought onto the TRE for the trip to Dallas' Union Station. At Union Station, fans will transfer onto the "Football Special" light rail trains for the quick non-stop trip to Mockingbird Station, which is across the street from the SMU campus. Free shuttles will transport fans from Mockingbird Station to SMU. Mockingbird Station features great shopping and many outstanding restaurants, including Trinity Hall.

The light rail will leave Mockingbird Station 30 minutes after the end of the football game for the return trip to Union Station and then Fort Worth. The TRE will depart Union Station to Ft. Worth one hour after the end of the game.
