WACO, Texas (NCEA/SMU) - SMU Equestrian senior
Mallory Vroegh was named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month for November, the organization announced on Monday.
Vroegh finished the month undefeated against all four top-10 opponents as she led the Horsemanship squad to four event wins.
Her 73.5 at No. 8 UC Davis helped the Mustangs take the event 3-2 before her seven-point win against No. 1 Oklahoma State helped give SMU the lead after the first two events. The win at No. 6 Fresno State completed an undefeated weekend in California.
Vroegh finished out the month with an MOP-winning ride against the Bulldogs thanks to a score of 79, which ties her previous season-high for SMU's highest Horsemanship score of the season. The point also contributed to SMU's sweep of the event over Fresno State.
The Grimes, Iowa native marks the first Mustang to receive an NCEA monthly honor this season and adds to her season honors, which include two conference Rider of the Week titles.
