Carter Mumm

Carter Mumm enters his second season as part of the SMU women's basketball program after being named an Assistant Coach by Head Coach Adia Barnes in the summer of 2025. 

Mumm originally joined the program as an Assistant Coach / Director of Scouting and Video Analytics under in 2024.

Prior to the Hilltop, Mumm was a graduate manager at Illinois State during the 2023-24 season. He helped guide the Redbirds to a record of 21-12 as the team advanced to the second round of the WNIT tournament.

During the 2022-23 season Mumm returned to his alma matter as a graduate assistant. With the Cyclones, Mumm was responsible for assisting the staff with video editing, scouting and player development.

Before his second stint in Ames, Mumm had his first stint at Illinois State as graduate manager during the 2021-22 season. He helped the Redbirds win the 2022 Missouri Valley Tournament Championship and a claim berth in the NCAA Tournament.

With the Redbirds, Mumm assisted the coaches with drills and practice plans, while helping run individual workouts for athletes before and after practice. 

Mumm is a 2021 graduate of Iowa State. During his undergraduate years in Ames, Mumm served as a student manager for the Iowa State women's basketball team. Mumm assisted with drills, practice and individual workouts, while also doing the scorebook on the road. Mumm has also served as a coach for All-Iowa Attack, where he serves as a mentor and coach during the spring and summer for eight teams.
