The Vic and Gladie Jo Salvino Strength and Conditioning Center opened in August of 2000 and is located in the Loyd All-Sports Center. The 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art training facility includes 1,500 sq. ft. of functional drill space to go along with 14 Olympic platforms with elite Olympic bumper plates.

Twenty-one self-contained free weight stations are complemented by over 13,000 total pounds of equipment available to SMU student-athletes.

The Salvino Strength and Conditioning Center also includes state-of-the-art aerobic equipment as well as a variety of machines and dumbbells.

With attention to detail including customized iron grip weights emblazoned with the Mustang logo, the Salvino Strength and Conditioning Center primarily serves 11 of SMU’s 17 sports.

Our staff strives to enhance the abilities of each student-athlete to ensure success in competition, in the classroom, and in their future endeavors.

We are committed to fostering championship caliber performance while helping develop outstanding student-athletes who embody excellence on and off their respective playing surfaces.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student-athlete has the capacity to reach their highest potential. Each individual contributes to their team’s culture and performance, and therefore will be supported with equal dedication, education, and respect.
