Bill Forester

Football (1950-52)

Bill Forester was a key player on SMU’s football team from 1950-52, earning All-SWC honors as a defensive tackle in 1951 and as a linebacker in 1952. Forester also excelled on offense, spending the entire 1950 season exclusively at fullback. The Green Bay Packers drafted Forester in the third round of the 1953 NFL Draft and he went on to spend 11 seasons there, tallying 21 interceptions and earning four Pro Bowl selections as a linebacker. Forester, who also played middle guard and defensive tackle for Green Bay, was inducted to the Packers Hall of Fame in 1974, and was later inducted into the Woodrow Wilson High School (Dallas, Texas) Hall of Fame in 1999.
