SMU Athletics

Kamal Khalilian was an All-American forward for the Mustangs from 1980-82, and still holds the program’s records for goals and points in a season and career. In 1980, he led SMU to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and was a first-team All-American. He also set SMU season records of 27 goals and 65 points and single-game program marks of five goals and 13 points. He is 19th all-time in the NCAA with 2.83 points per game in his career, and his 65 points still ranks 20th in NCAA history for a single season. He led the Mustangs in goals and points in each of his three seasons, led assists in 1981 and 1982, finishing with records of 58 goals and 153 points. His 37 career assists still rank second in SMU history.
