Track & Field (1981-83)

Keith Connor was a standout on SMU's men's track and field squads from 1981-83, leading SMU to win the 1983 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Connor was a three-time All-American in the triple jump, and was also named an All-American in the long jump in 1981. He won four individual national championships and six conference titles in the triple jump, taking the NCAA crown in indoors in 1981 and 1982, the outdoor title in 1982 and 1983, and winning the Southwest Conference championships in indoor and outdoor in 1981 and 1983. In 1982, Connor won two gold medals in the triple jump at the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships. He won a silver medal at the 1978 European Indoor Championships, and took the bronze in the 1984 Olympic Games, both in the triple jump. Connor also won the bronze medal in the triple jump in the 1981 World Student Games. HOF SMU class of 2014.
