Schellas Hyndman helped guide the SMU men’s soccer program to new heights as its head coach from 1984-2008. The Mustangs won nine regular season conference titles and six conference tournament championships during his tenure, and advanced to the College Cup twice, in 2000 and 2005. Hyndman coached 20 Mustangs to All-America honors, including 10 first-team selections. Hyndman himself received eight league coach of the year awards and five regional coach of the year awards. Overall, Hyndman compiled a 368-96-40 record at SMU before being hired as the head coach of FC Dallas in 2008. HOF SMU class of 2015.
