COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - The SMU volleyball team snapped its four-game losing streak on Sunday, taking out Tulane 3-0 (30-28, 30-27, 30-26) at G. Rollie White Coliseum in College Station, Texas. Natalie Peters was one-of-four Mustangs (12-15, 8-7 C-USA) to record five blocks and led SMU with 11 kills in the regular-season finale. Peters now has 140 total blocks on the season the most in SMU single-season history and also is the single-season leader in solo blocks (34) and blocks per game (1.41).
Ashley Zener also had a solid performance on the afternoon, notching 10 kills and five blocks, while Rachel Giubilto totaled seven kills and five blocks. Stephanie Bennett was the fifth Mustang to have five stops and added 3 kills. Kelly Larkan chipped in with five kills and six digs. Stefanie Kons led SMU in assists with 32 and added seven digs and five kills. Jennette Evanco led the Ponies in digs with 10.
The SMU volleyball team moves on to participate in the C-USA Tournament, which is slated to begin on Thursday at Rice's Autry Court. The No. 7 seeded Mustangs will face No. 10 seed UAB at 8 p.m. on Thursday. The winner of the match advances to face No. 2 seed Houston at 8 p.m. on Friday.
