DALLAS (AP) -- Bamba Fall scored 14 points, blocked five shots and grabbed five rebounds to lead SMU past Southern Miss 58-53 Saturday night.
Derrick Roberts added 13 points and Devon Pearson scored 12 points for the Mustangs (11-9, 3-4 Conference USA).
Southern Miss led by 14 points with 11:38 left in the first half, but that was whittled to a 26-22 advantage by halftime. SMU pulled ahead in the second half, boosting its lead to six with 5:49 left and holding on for the win.
Mildon Ambres led Southern Miss (7-15, 1-6) with 19 points and three rebounds while Courtney Beasley added 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
