IRVING, Texas (C-USA/SMU) - Conference USA announced the 2007 All-Conference USA Men's Tennis awards on Tuesday. SMU's Alex Skrypko took first team honors and David Kuczer garnered second team honors. Skrypko and Federico Murgier were named an All-Conference doubles team.
Skrypko began the season with a preseason ranking of No. 36 and remained ranked in singles through the season. He posted an 11-9 record at No. 1 singles and defeated three nationally ranked top -50 singles.
Kuczer went 11-9 in dual matches and played most of the season at No. 2 singles. His longest winning streak was six matches in the season and took wins over two ranked singles.
In doubles, Skrypko and Murgier posted an 11-6 record at No. 1 doubles. The pair posted a four-match win streak towards the end of the season including a win over a nationally ranked team.
