IRVING (S-USA/SMU) - Conference USA is partnering with NCAA Football and the New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD) to host a youth football clinic for all kids ages 7-14 on Monday, July 30. The clinic will be free of charge and will be held at the Willie Hall Playground, located at 1101 Milton Street, from 1:30 p.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. The clinic is being held in conjunction with NCAA Football's recent $750,000 contribution to Youth Football initiatives in the city of New Orleans.
The clinic will feature instruction from Conference USA coaches and student-athletes including SMU standouts Cory Muse and Emmanuel Sanders and Head Coach Phil Bennett. Attendees will participate in tackling, quarterback and receiver drills, and there will also be a kicking contest and 40-yard and 100-yard dash contests.
All kids planning to register or thinking about joining the 2007 NORD Youth Football League are encouraged to attend. There will also be some instruction provided for area adults, 18 and over, who have volunteered to coach in the NORD YFL this season.
Kids may register at the park beginning on July 30 at Noon, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Registration forms can be picked up in advance at the NORD office, located at 800 Race Street, and are also available here.
