DALLAS (SMU)-SMU volleyball (9-9, 2-3) dropped their second conference match this weekend to Houston (8-7, 1-2) in four sets (25-19, 22-25, 25-11, 25-20) Saturday in the Athletics/Alumni Center.
Sophomore Kathryn Wilkerson led the offense with nine kills, and Sophomore Kenzie Bukolt came in to add a .600 hitting percentage and three kills. Freshman Sidney Stewart recorded 16 digs in the loss and Junior Stefanie Kons led the team in assists with 21. Kons had a solid second set effort where she recorded one kill, 10 of her 21 assists, and two blocks.
Senior Natalie Peters had a strong serving night recording the only two aces for the Mustangs. Peters also performed well defensively, matching Kons with two blocks for the match. Peters is now ten blocks away from breaking the record for Total Career Blocks with 434.
The Mustangs take a break from conference play this Tuesday when they take on the North Texas Mean Green (3-12, 1-2 Sun Belt West) at 7:00 p.m. in the Mean Green Volleyball Center.
