Volleyball Falls To Baylor In Season-Opener

WACO, Texas (SMU) --- Freshman Dana Powell led the SMU volleyball team with seven kills as SMU fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16) at Baylor in the season-opener on Friday. Sophomore co-captain Kathryn Wilkerson followed with six kills and senior co-captain Natalie Peters recorded a team-high three blocks.

Sophomore Kelli Becerra topped the Mustangs with 14 digs and 12 assists while freshman Sidney Stewart had 12 digs. Powell also had 13 digs and two blocks.

The Mustangs continue play at the Baylor Invitational with matches against Lamar and Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
