DALLAS (SMU)-Freshman Mustang Therese Svendsen of the SMU women's swimming and diving program was awarded Swimmer of the Week honors as announced by Conference USA for the period ending January 19 for her career and season-best efforts in the 100 and 200 back events.

The Malmo, Sweden native helped the Mustangs to a 2-0 weekend with wins over C-USA foes Rice and Houston and posted season-best times in both the 100-back (56.66) and 200-back (2:00.53). Her time in the 200 back currently sits atop the C-USA leader board.

Svendsen also won the title in both events during competition. The weekly honor is the first of her career.
