DALLAS (AP) -- Bamba Fall made two free throws with 32 seconds left to give SMU a 67-65 victory over Southern Mississippi on Wednesday night. Fall, the only senior for SMU playing his final home game, tied a season-high with 16 points while grabbing a game-high eight rebounds. He was 5-of-8 from the field and 6-of-6 at the free throw line including the game-winners.
Craig Craft had tied the game for Southern Mississippi at 65-65 on a 3-pointer with 1:05 remaining. Jeremy Wise and R.L. Horton both missed two 3-pointers for the Golden Eagles in the final 10 seconds.
Mouhammad Faye led SMU (9-19, 3-12 Conference USA) with 18 points, including 13 points in the first half. Fall had 16 and Derek Williams added 14 for the Mustangs. Faye hit 6-of-9 from the floor and 3-for-4 from three-point range.
Fall now has 563 rebounds and moved into 22nd all-time at SMU. Freshman Paul McCoy added six points and tied his season-high with six assists. He also had two steals.
Wise led Southern Mississippi (14-15, 4-11) with 26 points. Courtney Beasley added 16 and Horton had 10.
SMU led 42-28 at the half and by as many as 16 before halftime.
