DALLAS (AP) -Cameron Moore scored on a transition layup with 1:11 remaining, culminating a 24-point second-half comeback, and UAB held on to defeat SMU 63-62 on Saturday.

Elijah Millsap had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Blazers (15-2, 3-0 Conference USA), and George Drake added 14 points.

Derek Williams, who led SMU (6-10, 0-3) with 23 points, missed a layup with a second left. Papa Dia had 11 points for the Mustangs.

The Blazers trailed 50-26 with 14:41 remaining. Millsap sparked the rally, scoring 16 of his points in the second half.

Moore had six points.

NEXT GAME: SMU plays against the Rice Owls in Houston on Wednesday, January 20th. SMU and Rice split their series last season. Tip is at 7 p.m. in Rice's Tudor Fieldhouse. The Mustangs then return to Moody Coliseum and play their final non-conference game against Houston Baptist Huskies next Saturday at 2 p.m.

Papa Dia

Mouhammad Faye
-Slammed down two alley-oop dunks (assists from Williams and Otis) to cap a 8-0 SMU run late in the first half that extended the Mustang lead to 10.
-Recorded his second multi-steal game (2) of the season (also 11/23/2009 vs. Huston-Tillotson)

Robert Nyakundi
-Saw 20 minutes of action, tying his season-high in minutes (also 12/7/2009 vs. Texas State), after being hampered by injuries for most of this season.
-Scored 8 points, which ties for his second-highest total this season. He has scored 8+ points in each game he has played longer than 15 minutes this season.

Frank Otis
-Registered a career high with 5 assists

Derek Williams
-Scored 23 points, his fourth 20+ point scoring effort of the season and the fifth of his career.
-His 5 3FGM set a career high. His previous high was 3 3FGM on three occasions. His 7 long-range attempts ties his career high.
-His 8 FGM tie a season high, which he had accomplished on three occasions.
