DALLAS (SMU) - SMU diver Audra Egenolf and swimmer Sascha Van den Branden have been named to the 2011 Conference USA Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team. The seniors have each earned their third-consecutive All-Academic team honor.
Egenolf receives her third honor as she holds a 3.982 GPA as an accounting major. The Indianapolis, Ind. native is a three-time C-USA Academic Medal recipient and a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member. She turned in several first-place performances throughout the season and posted a career-best 346.85 points as she won the three-meter dive at the SMU Classic.
Van den Branden earns her academic accolades as she owns a 3.808 GPA as an Advertising and Marketing major. She is a three-time C-USA Academic Medal recipient and a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member. In the pool, the Ruiselede, Belgium, native has recorded B qualifying times for the NCAA Championships in the 200-yard freestyle and as a member of the 200-, 400- and 800-yard freestyle relay squads. Van den Branden has posted SMU's fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle this season, touching the wall in 23.22 seconds.
