COMPLETE RESULTS
DOHA, Qatar (SMU) - Senior Isabella Arcila and recently-graduated Nina Rangelova competed on day one of the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships in the 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke.
Rangelova set the Bulgarian National Record in the 100-free, narrowly missing out on the semifinals in the event. The Plovdiv native swam a 53.85, just .28 seconds behind the last qualifier.
Arcila also competed in the free, swimming an unofficial national record time of 54.31. Colombia does not currently recognize records in short course meters, however it is the fastest time in the event. The Cali native also swam a career-best in the 100-back, touching the wall in 59.73.
