LAS VEGAS (SMU) – The SMU women's tennis team wrapped up its fall tournament season Sunday picking up four victories on the final day of the Rebel Invitational. Sophomore Liza Buss paced the Mustangs with a win in both singles and doubles play.

Buss teamed up with senior Dasha Sharapova in doubles to defeat Purdue's Marta Ruedas and Rafaella Baquerizo 8-3 in the flight one consolation. The Togliatt, Russia, native defeated another Boilermaker in the flight one singles consolation with a 6-1, 7-5 decision against Andjela Bjokovic.

Freshman Sarai Monarrez Yesaki claimed third-place in the third flight after defeating Arizona's Samantha Czarniak 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 to earn her second victory of the weekend.

Senior Macie Elliott fell 7-5, 6-3 to North Carolina State's Amanda Rebol in the flight four singles championship. Classmate Mary Wright tallied her second win of the weekend with a 7-5, 6-1 victory against Celine Voss of Colorado State, while sophomore Ellie Zogg lost 6-3, 7-5 to Voss teammate Sanrdra Keta.

The Mustangs will not compete again until the spring season with dual home matches scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 29 against Abilene Christian and Prairie View A&M.
