BOULDER, Colo. (SMU)— Alicia Froling led all scorers and posted a season-high 24 points in the Mustangs', 72-64, victory over Boston College in the semifinal round of the Omni Hotel Classic Friday afternoon. SMU is now 4-1 overall, while Boston College falls to 1-4.

The Mustangs never trailed the Boston College Eagles as a second half surge secured the win for SMU. With the lead just three for the Mustangs at half, Froling led SMU's offensive charge and posted 11 of SMU's 19 points in the third quarter to give the Mustangs a 10 point lead going into the final period of play. The junior nailed two free throws with 4:23 left to play in the third to extend the Mustang's lead to 14, the largest lead of the game. As a team, the Mustangs shot 46.2 percent from the field and shot 6-for-7 from the free throw line in the third quarter.

McKenzie Adams finished with 17 points, scoring seven in the fourth quarter, en route to the Mustang win. Morgan Bolton added 10 points, shooting 2-5 from behind the arc, contributing to SMU's efficient offense. SMU outscored the Eagles, 38-32, in the second half to finish the game shooting 49.0 percent from the field and 5-10 from the three-point line.

Adams and Froling set the pace early for SMU's offense, posting seven points apiece to lead all scorers in the first quarter. Mikayla Reese, Bolton and Adams shot a perfect 100 percent from beyond the arc to give the Mustangs the early, 23-15, lead. Kamray Mickens added a pullup jumper and Amaura Brandt nailed a three from the top of the key in the second quarter to help maintain SMU's lead at the break.

Klara Bradshaw and Bolton held down the Mustang defense as Bradshaw recorded four blocks and Bolton grabbed two of SMU's four steals. Kiara Perry and Bradshaw tied for a team-high seven rebounds each and three Mustangs scored in double digits for the fourth time this season.

SMU will face the Colorado Buffaloes in the championship game Saturday at 12 p.m. CT.
