DALLAS (SMU) - Juniors Marne Erasmus and Tara-Lynn Nicholas of the SMU women's swimming team each earned their third-consecutive bids to the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championship to be held March 17-19 in Atlanta. Erasmus will compete in the 100-yard butterfly and Nicholas in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Both Erasmus and Nicholas are two-time All-Americans in their respective events, and hold SMU program records. Erasmus has also swept the event since the American Athletic Conference's inception in 2014, while Nicholas posted the fastest times in 2015 and 2016.
Erasmus posted a season-best time of 51.77 in the event to give her the 13th fastest time heading into the Championship. Nicholas is the 15th-seed at 59.59.

Most recently, the duo helped the Mustangs to their second consecutive American Championship Feb. 17-20 in Houston. Erasmus swept butterfly events, while Nicholas won the 100 breast and was second in the 200. Both competed on the maximum four of five Championship relays.
