DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU volleyball team lost to Tulsa, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-22), in the final match of the regular season Friday in Moody Coliseum. Brittany Adams led the Mustangs with 10 kills, and senior Lauren Mills added seven.

Tulsa ended the match with a 25-22 win in the third, erasing a 20-14 deficit to complete the sweep. Eva Linden came into the match, providing a spark for the Mustangs. The transfer scored four kills with two digs in the third set. Her first two kills came on back-to-back points, giving SMU a 10-7 lead. SMU went on a 5-0 run to push the lead to six, 20-14, before Tulsa charged back for the win. 

Tulsa claimed a 25-18 win in the first set, hitting .300 with 17 kills while holding the Mustangs to 11 kills. The set was in the balance, tied at 9-9 with neither team yet to hold more than a one-point advantage, until the Golden Hurricane scored three straight to take a 12-9 lead. Tulsa stretched the lead to six, 19-13, and held on for the win. Kennedy led the offense with four kills in the set.

The Mustangs lost the second set, 25-17, falling behind Tulsa 2-0 in the match. The Golden Hurricane hit .311 with 17 kills while holding SMU to just eight kills. SMU also scored on five Tulsa service errors in the set. The Golden Hurricane took a 9-5 lead, and held at least a three-point advantage for the remainder of the set. 

The NCAA Championship and National Invitational Volleyball Championship brackets will be released Sunday.
