Jan. 15, 2017

PHILADELPHIA (SMU)— Dai'ja Thomas scored a team and career-high 18 points in SMU's 66-52 loss at [RV]/25 Temple Wednesday night. The sophomore was one of three Mustangs to score in double figures, scoring the record in just 18 minutes of play.

SMU (13-12) outscored the Owls 17-15 in the third quarter, led by Thomas' seven points in the period. After trailing by as much as 21, the Mustangs fought back to cut the deficit to 12 when Stephanie Collins scored her 10th point of the night, assisted by Kiara Perry, with 7:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs also outscored Temple (20-5) in the fourth quarter, 16-15, led by Thomas' seven points again but the late push wasn't enough to overcome the Owls' early lead.

McKenzie Adams was the third Mustang to finish in double digits, scoring 10 points and grabbing six rebounds. It was the junior's 18th game of the season scoring in double figures.

Morgan Bolton finished with a career-high eight assists and a season-high nine rebounds for the Mustangs. Perry added four assists, five points and four rebounds, while Alicia Froling grabbed seven rebounds for SMU.
