Brown, Moore Selected To The Reese’s Division I All-Star Game

PHOENIX (SMU/NABC) – SMU seniors Sterling Brown and Ben Moore were selected to the 2017 Reese's® Division I College All-Star Game West Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee announced Tuesday.
 
Brown led the American Athletic Conference in three-point percentage (44.9 percent) for the second straight season, while averaging 13.4 points (13th AAC), 6.5 rebounds (16th AAC), 3.0 assists (14th AAC) and 1.4 steals (7th AAC). The Maywood, Illinois, native scored in double figures 28 times in the regular season, including the last 13 games. He finished with six double-doubles this season.
 
Moore averaged 11.4 points (24th AAC), 7.8 rebounds (5th AAC), 2.4 assists and 1.1 blocks (12th AAC), while shooting 56.0 percent from the field (2nd AAC). Moore, a Bolingbrook, Illinois, native started all 35 games, recording double-digit points in 24-of-35 games and five or more rebounds in 28-of-35 games. He recorded eight double-doubles this season.
 
They each earned All-American Athletic Conference Second Team and AAC All-Tournament honors.
 
Brown and Moore are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in SMU history for victories (109, 108) and games played (136, 135). Moore finished his career with 1,214 career points (25th at SMU), 780 rebounds (9th at SMU), 125 blocked shots (8th at SMU), 242 assists and 102 steals (T-23rd at SMU). Brown finished with 1,110 career points (31st at SMU), 653 rebounds (15th at SMU), 294 assists (15th at SMU), 139 steals (9th at SMU) and 51 blocked shots (T-23rd at SMU).
 
SMU finished the season 30-5 overall and ranked No. 11 in the final AP Poll. The Mustangs won the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles en route to the NCAA Tournament. The 30 wins set a program record, including a 17-1 mark in conference play and an 18-0 home record. The Mustangs had winning streaks of 10 games and 16 games in a stretch that saw SMU win 26 of 27.
 
The game is on Reese's Final Four Friday at the University of Phoenix Stadium at 5:35 p.m. CT/3:35 PT on CBS Sports Network.
