Santrock To Be Inducted Into Southwest Conference Hall of Fame

Named SWC Tennis Female Athlete of the Decade (1980s)

WACO, Texas (Texas Sports Hall of Fame/SMU) – Former SMU great Jennifer Santrock is one of nine inductees to join the all-time greats in the Southwest Conference Hall of Fame, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame announced.

Sanstrock graced the campus of SMU from 1986-89, and was named SWC Tennis Female Athlete of the Decade for the 1980s. The four-time All-American advanced to the 1989 NCAA singles championship final and was named the Volvo/ITCA National Senior Player of the Year. Sanstrock also advanced to the NCAA singles semifinals as a sophomore in 1987. Santrock went 21-1 in 1989, winning an SMU record 95.5 percent of her matches. As a professional, Santrock reached the second round in four Grand Slam events.

In 2015, Sanstrock was also inducted into the SMU Athletics Hall of Fame class, which included Jerry Ball, Ryan Berube, Schellas Hyndman, Dennis Ralston, and the late Bill Forester.

The Southwest Conference Hall of Fame is one of four separate halls of fame housed within the Texas Sports Hall of Fame located in Waco. The induction ceremony will take place Monday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. CT. in Fort Worth, Texas at the Brown-Lupton University Union on the TCU Campus.
