Fort Collins, Colo. (SMU) – Women's soccer wraps up non-conference play as they take their 5-1-1 record up against Colorado State on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
SMU rides a three-game winning streak into the contest after a pair of home wins over Houston Baptist and FIU and a 4-0 road drubbing of Northern Colorado on Thursday. In their last two games, the Mustangs offense has found the back of the net nine times.
QUICK FACTS
-Sunday marks the third ever meeting between Colorado State and SMU. The Mustangs have won on both occasions, with the last game coming in 2014 from Fort Collins. SMU won 1-0 behind a lone goal from Lauren Guerra.
-With a 5-1-1 mark through seven games, the Mustangs are off to their best start to a season since the 1995 campaign.
-On the road, the Mustangs have managed a 2-1-1 record with a wins over Rice and Northern Colorado, a draw at TCU and a 1-0 loss against Long Beach State.
-The Mustangs have only trailed for 33 minutes through seven games this season. Comparatively, the squad has spent 392 minutes in front. Altogether, SMU has spent 60% of the season in the lead, 34% tied and just 5% of the campaign trailing (all against Long Beach State).

Sebazco is just the third AAC player to be honored more than once with Rookie of the Week. The Fort Worth, Texas native had her first award-winning weekend against Rice and TCU, scoring a pair of goals. Two weeks later, Sebazco registered a multi-goal game against FIU, including one coming on a penalty kick. The freshman leads the Mustangs in goals, shots and shots on goals. Sebazco added her fifth goal against Northern Colorado.
-Celiana Torres has scored in the last three games she's played including one game-winning goal against Northern Colorado. The freshman has a point in five of the six games she's played this season.
-After the United Soccer Coaches released their weekly poll on Tuesday, the Mustangs moved up for the third straight week and now sit just 14 votes shy of the Top 25.
-The Mustangs have taken advantage of early goals throughout the season. In half their games, the Mustangs have put up a pair of goals before the game is even a third of the way done. Against the Panthers, SMU scored twice before the five-minute mark, the quickest to a couple goals for the Mustang since 2016 against Tulsa.
-Senior Goalkeeper Catie Brown has not conceded a goal in her last 194:33 minutes in net, a streak that dates back to the draw against TCU. Brown's 0.67 GAA is second in the conference.
-Head Coach Chris Petrucelli is quickly approaching the 400-win plateau. In his seventh season at the helm of the Mustangs, Petrucelli currently sits at 398 career victories. Only seven coaches have reached this mark in Division 1, including just five active coaches.

-The Mustangs were picked to finish fifth in the American Athletic Conference with junior Allie Thornton being named preseason All-Conference by the league's coaches.
-Dating back to 2017, the Mustangs have won six consecutive matches at Westcott Field.
ABOUT COLORADO STATE – Colorado State comes into Sunday's game after a 1-0 loss at home to Gonzaga on Thursday. The Rams have a 2-3-2 record but have dropped three of four. The two teams have a common opponent in Northern Colorado. The Rams topped the Bears 2-1 while the Mustangs won 4-0.
