Fort Collins, Colo. (SMU) – Women's Soccer fell, 1-0, on the road to Colorado State on Sunday in the final non-conference game of the regular season.

Neither team could find a goal in the first half though the Mustangs outshot the Rams, 6-4. After a change in goal to begin the second half the game stayed scoreless until a foul on the Mustangs inside the goal area was called in the 73^rd minute.

Colorado State senior Beth Plentl got the nod to take the Ram PK and was able to push one past Samantha Estrada. The one-goal deficit was just the second time the Mustangs have trailed in the entire eight game season.

SMU generated many chances in the final 17' looking for the game-tying goal including hitting a crossbar and having couple chances saved by CSU keeper. The Mustangs were unable to get the equalizer and dropped their second game of the season, both coming in 1-0 road contests.

The Mustangs took more shots, 15-10, and generated more corners (7-4) in the game. SMU now sits at 5-2-1 on the season and the Rams improve to 3-3-2.

Next up, the Mustangs begin American Athletic Conference play with a pair of home games at Westcott Field. Temple begins SMU's with a 7 p.m. contest on Thursday followed by UConn on Sunday.
