COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) – Junior
Erin Trahan led the Mustangs with three runner-up finishes against No. 8 Texas A&M at the Rec Center Natatorium in College Station on Saturday. SMU fell, 161-90, to the Aggies, dropping to 4-2 in dual action this season. Texas A&M improved to 5-1.
Trahan was second in both the 50-yard (23.73) and 100-yard (51.90) freestyle, as well as the 100-yard butterfly (55.21).
Annabelle Corcoran turned in a season-best time of 10:29.05 for fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle, and was also SMU's highest finisher in the 500-yard freestyle.
SMU turned in the fourth fastest time in each of the event's relays as
Felicity Passon,
Andrea Podmanikova, Trahan and
Gabi Grobler competed in the 400-yard medley relay and
Olivia Grossklaus, Passon,
Madison Kinsey and
Casey Rose represented SMU in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Mustangs continued competition at the Georgia Diving Invite on Saturday, with
Johanna Holloway leading the way for the second day. The freshman placed 14th in 1-meter prelims with a season-best 250.80.
Taylor Ohlhauser finished 16th with a six-round 243.45 and
Katie Crown rounded out the Mustang trio with a 31st place finish in her first action of the 2018-19 season.
