DALLAS (SMU) – The Mustangs hit the road for a pair of dual meets this week when they face American Athletic Conference foe Houston Wednesday and Metroplex rival TCU Friday.

Wednesday's event is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at the CRWC Natatorium and is available on the Meet Mobile App ($) with live updates on the Mustangs' Twitter account ($).

The Mustangs opened the 2019-20 season at the SMU Classic where eight swimmers and one diver represented SMU in a six-team, altered-format event. SMU faced a pair of top-25 teams at the event that saw junior Gabi Grobler come away as the team's top point scorer and Erin Trahan post an NCAA B cut in the 100-yard butterfly en route to AAC Swimmer of the Week honors.  

In last year's meet against Houston, the Cougars narrowly defeated the Mustangs, 152.50-147.50, in Dallas. SMU picked up 10 wins in the event, including three from Trahan (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly) and individual victories from Olivia Grossklaus (200 fly), Gabi Grobler (200 back) and Johanna Holloway (3 meter).

The Mustangs last saw TCU on Homecoming in 2018 and came away with a 196-103 victory. SMU swept the relay events and was led individually by Grobler who swept backstroke events and won the 200 IM. Trahan picked up wins in the 50 free and 100 fly, while Lauren Thompson, Grossklaus and Holloway also won events.

Diving action against the Horned Frogs will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, while swimming begins at 1 p.m. The meet will also feature the Mustang men's team.
