NABC Honors Court release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (NABC/SMU) – SMU's
James Pyle was named to the 2018-19 NABC Honors Court, which recognizes men's college basketball players who excel in the classroom.
Pyle, who graduated with a degree in finance this past May, was named to the NABC Honor Court in 2017-18 as well. Pyle was a three-time member of the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
Throughout his career at SMU, the Overland Park, Kansas, native played in 38 games for the Mustangs, including a start on senior night against Wichita State in 2019. He appeared in 20 games for the 2017 conference champion and NCAA tournament team.
At the 2019 Pony Awards, Pyle was nominated for the Perseverance Award, which is awarded to a Student-Athlete who demonstrated an exceptional degree of determination in overcoming obstacles while maintaining good academic standing.
