Proche Selected By Baltimore Ravens In 2020 NFL Draft

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU wide receiver James Proche has been chosen by the Baltimore Ravens as the 22nd pick in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Proche becomes the fourth Mustang drafted in three seasons, joining Courtland Sutton, Justin Lawler and Trey Quinn, who were all selected in 2018. Proche's pick also marks the third wide receiver selected from SMU in three seasons.

The FWAA second-team All-American led the nation with 111 receptions in 2019, registering 1,225 yards and 15 touchdowns, and ranked second nationally in receptions per game with 8.5.

Proche set SMU career records for receiving TDs (39), career receptions (301) career receiving yards (3,949), career all-purpose yards (4,996), season receiving TDs and consecutive games with a receptions TD (12). He closed out his time on the Hilltop as the FBS active leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving TDs.

Proche was a Biletnikoff Award Semifinalist, a first-team All-American Athletic Conference selection and an Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Semifinalist, as well as a member of the Maxwell Award and Paul Hornung Award Watch Lists.
