COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) – SMU women's tennis fell, 4-0, to Texas A&M in a road match on Saturday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

The Mustangs found themselves in an early hole after dropping the doubles point to the Aggies.
Jackie Nylander and
Chandler Carter fell to the 39
th-ranked doubles pairing, 6-3, on line one.
Nicole Petchey and
Hadley Doyle lost 6-1 on lines three.
Winslow Huth and
Claudia Bartolome were tied 4-4 on court two when doubles ended.Â

 The Aggies moved to within one point of clinching thanks to two-set victories on lines five and six.
Kiana Graham finished down 6-2, 6-1 on No. 6 while fellow freshman,
Winslow Huth, lost 6-1, 6-2 on court five.

The Mustang battled back on the remaining four courts after losing set ones on each.
Jackie Nylander was facing the 53
rd-ranked singles player in the nation and forced a third set with a 6-2 win in the second. Nylander was up 3-2 in the third at the time of clinch.

Carter lost her first set in a tiebreaker before taking set two. Tied at 5-5 in the second, Carter won the final two games to force the third. The match was 2-1 in the third in favor of A&M when the match ended. Doyle lost set one in a tiebreaker before dominating set two, 6-1. Her court two opponent won the third set 6-1 to clinch the match.

Nicole Petchey was locked in a tight second-set battle on court four (4-6, 5-6) when the Aggies clinched the win with the fourth point of the dual match.
The Mustangs move to 4-3 on the season while the Aggies improve to 4-1.

On Sunday, The Aggies head up the freeway to Waco to take on No. 23 Baylor. The match is slated for 1 p.m. from the Hurd Tennis Complex.
