Mustang Fans, Alumni Can Share SMU Affinity; Benefit Through Purchases Made
DALLAS (March 18, 2021) – SMU Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Mustang Sports Properties, announced today a new relationship with TapNPay+ which enables fans and alumni to share a unique affinity with the university and earn cash back with every purchase.
The app is available for download now, and the SMU partnership allows for a direct donation to SMU Athletics with each TapNPay+ paid transaction. Notably, fans will earn cash back instantly from making purchases in store or online via any one of the more than 270 merchant partners, such as Best Buy, Fanatics, Pet Smart, Home Depot, Top Golf, and major airlines featured in the app. TapNPay+ partners with some of the biggest brands in retail, entertainment, hospitality, travel and other categories, most of which are everyday purchases. The average TapNPay+ user can earn $300 per year when making purchases with the app.
"We're thrilled to officially be partnering with SMU, and we look forward to expanding their community engagement while enhancing funding efforts across the athletic program," said, TapNPay+ EVP of Strategic Partnerships Gary Antonucci. "The SMU team has a great understanding of who we are, what we hope to accomplish, and what makes us so different from other revenue solutions. Our app creates a 100% mutually beneficial situation for both SMU and supporters. Mustang fans and alumni can simply Tap, Pay, and support SMU every day while also earning instant cash back for themselves on all their purchases!"
Concurrent with this 2021-22 athletics season agreement, TapNPay+ will receive brand visibility on SMUMustangs.com and radio broadcasts; inside Gerald J. Ford Stadium during football games; and inside Moody Coliseum during basketball games.
"We are excited about the opportunity to partner with TapNPay+ to give SMU fans another way to support their university while also helping them save money on their everyday purchases," said Senior Associate AD/Development Matt Peters. "This new innovative approach gives fans the chance to show their support for the program every single day."
Fans are encouraged to visit TapNPay+ online to learn more. Mustang Sports Properties, SMU Athletics' multimedia rightsholder and dedicated Learfield IMG College team, secured the relationship on behalf of the University.
