Three Mustangs Invited To NFL Combine

INDIANAPOLIS (NFL/SMU) – Three Mustangs have been invited to the 2022 NFL Combine to be held in Indianapolis March 1-7. Wide receivers Danny Gray and Reggie Roberson, Jr., and tight end Grant Calcaterra will represent SMU in the Circle City.

Danny Gray | WR
Gray led team with 803 receiving yards and nine TDs off 49 receptions in only 10 games. His TD total tied for 10th at SMU and was 24th nationally after the regular season. After a pair of 100-yard games during the 2021 season, Gray finished his two-year career on the Hilltop with three total.

Gray was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Oct. 27, and accepted an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl at the conclusion of the season. He earned All-American Athletic Conference first-team honors and second-team honors from Pro Football Focus and Phil Steele.

Reggie Roberson, Jr. | WR
Roberson, Jr., returned for the 2021 season after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the Oct. 3, 2020 game against Memphis. He opened 2021 on Watch Lists for the Maxwell Award, Biletnikoff Award, Reese's Senior Bowl and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award and was named a Mayo Comeback Player of the Year candidate.
 
Roberson, Jr., finished 2021 with 51 catches for 625 yards and six TDs, and finished his career sixth on SMU's career receiving TD list (23) and eighth on the career receiving yards list (2,704).

Grant Calcaterra | TE
Calcaterra led Mustang tight ends with four TDs off 38 receptions and 465 yards in 2021. He was named second-team All-AAC and also accepted an invite to the Reese's Senior Bowl. Calcaterra started the year on Mackey Award, Reese's Senior Bowl and College Gridiron Showcase Watch Lists, and was mentioned on the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Big Board.
