DALLAS (SMU) – Zhuric Phelps had 27 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals to lead SMU to an 80-66 win over Paul Quinn in an exhibition game at Moody Coliseum on Saturday.

Stefan Todorovic added 14 points and Zach Nutall made it three in double figures with 13 points.

The Mustangs outscored the Tigers 46-31 in the second half, hitting 60.9% from the floor, including 3-of-5 on threes.

Samuell Williamson had six points in his first contest at SMU, finishing second for the Mustangs with seven boards.

For the game, SMU shot 50.0% from the field and 8-of-18 from three. The Mustangs had 16 assists on 26 field goals.

The Mustangs begin the first season under Head Coach Rob Lanier on Monday, Nov. 7 at Moody Coliseum against Texas A&M-Commerce.
