DALLAS (SMU) – SMU cruised to an 88-54 win over Texas A&M International in an exhibition at Moody Coliseum Tuesday.
Savannah Wilkinson converted every shot she took, finishing with a game high 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. She drained all 11 field-goal attempts and sank her three chances at the charity stripe.
The Mustangs built a 46-28 advantage at halftime and continued to increase their advantage over the final two quarters. TK Pitts converted a turnover into a fast-break layup, giving the home side their biggest lead of the night at 86-47, with 2:54 remaining.
Jasmine Smith tallied 17 points on 7 of 14 from the field, while Pitts netted 15 on 5 of 10 and collected a game-high six steals.
For the game, SMU shot 50.0% from the field, including 7 of 19 from three. The Mustangs recorded 22 assists on 34 field goals and forced 20 turnovers by the Dustdevils.
SMU opens the season against Alabama State at Moody Coliseum Monday, Nov. 7, with a 4 p.m. tip.
