DALLAS (SMU) – SMU tallied the first 14 points against Texas A&M – Commerce en route to a 86-57 victory at Moody Coliseum Friday.
The Mustangs hit 71% of their attempts in the first half, building a 20-point cushion at the break.
Tymberlin Criswell laid in a fast break bucket with 22 seconds remaining in the third, propelling the home side to their largest margin of the game at 76-43.
Reagan Bradley led SMU in scoring with 15 points on 6 of 7 from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range. Criswell tallied 13 points, while
Ella Brow posted 12. In total, 13 Mustangs found their name in the points column.
SMU made 54% of its field-goal attempts in the second half, outscoring the Lions 37-28. The Mustangs drained 47% from behind the arc, converting 8 of 17. They dominated in the paint, outscoring Texas A&M – Commerce 46-30, while holding a 35-25 edge in bench points.
SMU return to action Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Louisiana Tech at Moody Coliseum.
