DALLAS (SMU) – No. 24 SMU lost for just the second time this season in a 1-0 decision to South Florida at the Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium Thursday night.

Chiara Hahn gave USF the early lead in the 19th minute. It proved to be the game winner for the Bulls (5-6, 2-1 AAC)

Wayny Balata had a look at an equalizer for SMU (6-2-3, 1-2 AAC) in the 83rd minute that USF goalkeeper Sydney Martinez kept out of the net by pushing just outside the post.

Sammy Nieves hit the left post on a shot in the 65th minute. She had two shots and was one of three Mustangs with multiple attempts on frame in the match. Courtney Sebazco and Julissa Cisneros each also had two shots.

The Mustangs managed 10 shots in the match with two on goal. This is the first time SMU has been shutout this season.
