DALLAS (SMU)- The SMU women's basketball team fell to No. 13 Baylor 85-61 on Thursday night in Moody Coliseum.

Tamia Jones led the Mustangs with 17 points, four steals, three assists and a rebound. Jones' 17 points tied her career-high. Tiara Young scored in double-digits for the seventh consecutive game. Young tallied 16 points while grabbing a season-high nine rebounds and passing out two assists. Reagan Bradley scored 14 points and passed out three assists. The graduate guard finished with two boards. 

Chantae Embry turned in six points and one rebound, a steal and an assist. TK Pitts finished with four rebounds and an assist, and Amirah Abdur-Rahim chipped in two points, four rebounds, and an assist. 

Embry hit a pair of three-pointers, and Jones knocked down a jumper and finished on a drive to give SMU an early 10-6 lead. Young hit a three-point jumper to counter seven unanswered from Baylor. Bradley hit a pair of free throws to pull within two, but the Bears made a layup to lead 20-16 after the first quarter. 

Maya Chandler scored the first bucket of the second frame for the Mustangs. Baylor took a 6-0 run into the media timeout. Jones cashed in on a three-pointer and finished a driving layup, and Bradley and Young scored back-to-back buckets to bring the Mustangs back within two after the break. Young made her second shot from behind the arc to counter a Baylor layup. The Bears used nine unanswered to lead at the half.

Bradley finished a second-chance jumper to get the scoring started out of the half. Both teams held each other scoreless for over a minute and a half before a bucket from Young countered a Baylor three. A 7-0 run propelled Baylor to a 62-45 lead heading to the fourth. The Bears used their momentum and outscored SMU in the fourth quarter to seal an 85-61 victory.
