DALLAS (SMU)- Head Coach
Sam Erger has announced the addition of Natalia Newsome to the SMU volleyball team for the 2024 season.
"We are thrilled to have a hometown superstar that wants to represent Dallas and play in front of her community and family at SMU," Head Coach
Sam Erger said. "Natalia is a high-flying, dynamic middle blocker with a huge runway for growth, so we are excited to get her here working with us and the team. For everything she adds athletically she will double it with her work ethic and character. Natalia's future is very bright, and we are lucky to have her. "

High School: Played for Rhonda Dunn at Arlington Martin High School… Lettered three years… Named the District 8-6A Hitter of the Year (2022)... Named the Team Most Valuable Player (2022)… Named to the THSCA Volleyball Super Elite Team and TGCA All Star Volleyball Team (2022)… Crowned the District 8-6A Player of the Year (2023)... Played club for Texas Image.
Personal: Born on Jan. 25, 2006, to Natasha and Tony Newsome… Her father Tony played football at SMU… Has two siblings TJ and Kayla… Member of the National Honors Society… Three-time Academic All-District Selection… Plans to major in Business Law or Sports Management.
