NEW ORLEANS (SMU)- The SMU women's basketball team missed a shot at the buzzer in a 52-50 loss at Tulane Wednesday night in Fogelman Arena.
Savannah Wilkinson led the Mustangs with a season-high 23 points (9-12 shooting) while grabbing seven rebounds. The senior earned her seventh straight double-digit scoring performance and 14th of the season. Tamia Jones grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and added six points.
A 6-0 run in the third quarter gave SMU (15-8, 6-5 AAC) its first lead at 32-30 on its way to outscoring the Green Wave 21-15 in the quarter.
SMU held Tulane without a field goal for the last 4:20 of the game but could not hang on.
Tulane led 26-22 at the half after Reagan Bradley beat the buzzer to cut the Mustang deficit to four. SMU trailed 18-14 after the first frame.
