DALLAS (SMU)– SMU's Augusta Iwasaki was named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's Fences Rider of the Year, the organization announced Thursday.
Iwasaki put together an impressive rookie season in Fences for the Mustangs. The Calabasas, California, native finished the season with an 11-1 record, including winning nine straight points to finish her first regular season with an unblemished record.
Iwasaki collected four MOP awards in the regular season and was named the NCEA National Championships Fences Most Outstanding Performer.
Augusta was named an NCEA First-Team All-American Fences selection and was the NCEA Rider of the Month in February.
